Merc 7,5 Flooding

My merc from 1975 runs well exept;<br /> every now and then when the engine is cold gas comes from everyhere especially from the little tube in front of the carb and a terrible smoke, if I am quick on the throttle it sometimes helps?<br />Could it bee the needle?<br /><br />By the way, what is the difference between an 7,5<br />and 9,8 engine?

Yes, I figured the float is in fact hitting<br />the float chamber, how can it be?<br />Merc quality control???
