Just had my mariner 25 serviced, carb clean etc... First time I took it out it ran beautifully. However, the second time the idle was very rough and at low idle the engine cuts out. Just had it running in garage, same problems and also the water in the bucket became very oily and dirty. Also noticed a small pool of oil/water under the prop. Could this have been caused by using old fuel?...Any suggestions please!

Thanks

Did you just fill it full of the gunk you just cleaned out?

Clean it out again. I doubt anything got really sticky inside yet. Get new fuel/oil and try it again. You should be OK

Re: HELP!.... mariner 25 problem!

I would get a Mercury service manual.
Then do the carb repair section.

The manual will show you how to remove it properly, clean and inspect, adjust and reassemble.

If you just had a "carb kit" installed, then don't buy another one. Just re-use the parts.
If they didn't install a carb kit, then I would put one in it now.

2 stroke carbs are very simple, that's one reason many people like them so much.
