I replacd the Water pump and reinstalled the lower unit. Everything looked good. Now I have diminished water out of the pee hole and water out of the exhaust ports. How after reinstalling the lower unit do you have to wait before firing it up.? I waited 2 hrs. Did the water get past the exhaust divider plate? What should I do now. An urgent response is needed!

Was anything wrong prior to the water pump replacement... Was it overheating at idle?

Your symptoms now sound like a poppet/pressure relief valve is stuck open. If so, it will dump water from the block and you will see water exiting the upper exhaust ports as. It's only suppose to be open at rpms above 3000 or so...

Let us know....

Did you use the pick-up tube guide, to ensure a good seal between the water pump exit and the pickup tube.

KCLOST,

Before the pump replacement, I had a stronger stream of water from the tell-tale. Where is the poppet valve located?

I did use the pickup tube guide.

Just a note. I did take it out to Lake Fork today and it ran fine. It may need some tuning up though. It idles rough.
