Where is the thermostat in an old mercury 1150 (115hp inline 6 1976) ?

Does anyone know where the thermostat is in an old mercury 1150 115hp inline 6cyl 1976 outboard? i cannot find it, please help...

its under the loose nut with no manual behind the helm . just funnin. those motors ran no t-stats. no overheat alarms or warnings either.
