65HP old merc?

I have an old mercury outboard serial number 3001870 could you tell me the specs ie. year, weight, HP with particular emphasis on weight 'cos I am gonna have to lift it!<br />Also the electronics are shot. do you think it worth the repair?

It's a 1971 4 cyl. weighs about 160# Most often problem with those early CD ign. is the switch box, easy to ck out with a little guidance--Bob

I have a 1965 650 on my little boat. Thunderbolt ignition, found out today that the Stator is bad.

So much for my marina's mechanics knowing anything. The stator is NOT bad, it's the CD box. Does anyone know where I can find one (Merc doesn't make them anymore). Eng. ser. # 3156568 and the number on the box is 087741<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Mike
