Please Help!! Year of motor?

i recently got a 6hp mercury older motor 2 stroke. I have no clue what year it is. I think the water pump may be bad no water spitting out and motor over heats. I need a new part but cant figure out the year to get it. The serial number is 4130625.<br /><br />Thanks for any help<br />Jeremey

According to that serial no, you have a 1975, 2 cyl, 7.5 HP. Could someone have changed the cowling?

Gone fishin - you should be able to plug that serial number in to mercury's parts express webpage to get all the part info you need.

thats the right number for sure i dont know. But it says 60 on it so i know it is a 6hp and evan on the inside the motor it self says the same serial number. I really need this running before may 15 what do i do?
