try a merc dealer or napa,the boatfix parts are for an i/o.

Those are for Mercruiser, I think that part is a dealer only item--Bob

OpK, Your trim cylinder has a recessed end on it. The ones in your picture do not, and are for mercruisers. You can likely order a cap from www.dougrussell.com, or find a used trim cylinder at a junkyard. A new unit will cost a lot.<br /><br />If you do buy the replacement end cap, do not pull the piston out of the cylinder. It requires a special tool, like a piston ring compressor to re-install it. Simply pull the inner steel cylinder liner and piston out, unbolt the piston from the rod, replace the end cap and reinstall the piston. Don't forget to use a new Oring on the end cap (inside).
