remove the stater assm, bend the lock tab down that holds the shaft nut, (it's left hand threads) loosen the nut carefully, while holding the shaft with a screwdriver, release the spring tension by backing the shaft of with the screwdriver, take the wheel assm. out of the housing keeping close watch on the dogs and etc, replace the rope, clean the dogs and friction disc, lube them with small amts of grease to hold them in place and reverse the process to assm
