Hey folks!

Making my 99 Merc 40 HP 4-stroke run properly again seems to be becoming my summer hobby. I've noticed that there seems to be a pocket of air trapped in the fuel filter... it stays there when the engine is running and pumping the primer doesn't push it out. My local parts supplier says this is normal, but it makes me wonder. I've replaced just about everything in the fuel system and the fuel filter just seems to want to have some air in it.

Is this normal or should I continue to be suspicious?
