Mercury OB Economy "Feature"

My '99 Mercury 125 OB has a "feature" where it runs on 2 cylinders when at low RPMs and kicks in all 4 cylinders at about 2000 RPMs. I find this annoying, as it makes it hard to run at mid-speed.

Does anyone know if there is a way to override this feature? I think it would be cool to have a dash-mounted override switch.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Chip

There is not a overide it is not electrical but done with the carbs, it is not a economy feature but gets the engine off the pipe so to speak and lets it idle

Problem is 2 of your carbs don't have an idle circuit. You could replace the carbs, but very costly.

DHP
