The - 12 indicates the it is a 12" pitch it fits most mid size engines, make use to use the right prop hardware

Dunno if this helps or not - I have a michigan wheel/merc cross reference book, that number doesn't list anywhere.

This part number was stamped on the hub.
Click Here for a photo of the part number

Thanks for your help.

I received an enail from him and he agreed to return the prop but also made a comment about "internet experts!"

Whatever! I have learned more on the net than I ever did in school or trial and error!

I need to post this just to let everyone know to not believe everything you are "sure" of. I have learned much from these forums, but even the best of experts can be wrong too.

Ummm... I have no idea about that part number still, but the man I bought it from was right: It must be a 9p.

My RPMs climbed 1100 from 4000-4100 to 5200 and my speed went up 4mph, from 19 to 23mph.

This is a great little prop and was just as he said it was on eBay.

Wow... ok wonder if it has been reworked to a smaller prop? My RPMs didn't shoot up 1100 going from a 3 blade 12" pitch to a 2 blade 12" pitch.

Thanks for the scan.

Hey, again let me apologize... I mean...

(1) I buy a prop from a guy on eBay with great feedback.
(2) It arrives and seems to be 12p
(3) I post that here and you agree
(4) I email the guy and he is CERTAIN the prop is 9p, but offers to return it to make me happy
(5) I bolt it on and it performs like a 9p - great
(6) I post here thinking all is solved... thinking the seller was right because the performance is right
(7) You show me proof the prop is 12p and I feel stupid all over

Sorry man! It made sense to me, but you have to be right.

Maybe it is the wrong hub? Mis-numbered?

Whew.... a two blade prop has 1/3 less drag than a 3 blade prop, so why would one not expect it to turn more r's!!!!!!! Basic math.......

A side note: NEVER ARGUE WITH LADDIES!!!!!

Wow... never thought of it in those complicated terms: 2 blades = 33% less drag than 3
hahahhaha

You know the 4 blade Michigan Vortex I tried should have dropped me to 3200 - 3400...

I appreciate Laddies input very much. But you, friend, need to drink another beer if you think a 2 blade and 3 blade of the same pitch will result in 1100 rpms difference. Party on.
