Blowing out the cobwebs

Last season, I winterized my ELPTO90HP 2005 by using deep creep (seafoam) by squirting some into the carbs and then spray some into the spark plug holes. Well today, I thought I would crank her up so I can go blackmouth fishing this weekend, but the baby won't start.

Just to exclude anything that I have done over the last month.
Installed a permanent gas tank in the bow. The gas line is approximately 18 ft long. Installed new Racor water seperator filter. Thought that I might have problems with it sucking up the fuel from way up in the bow, in addition to the fuel line being higher than the tank. The Racor is full of fuel after a few cranks.

Kept on turning the key but just would not start. Pulled the plugs out and they were wet, with gas, so I'm assuming that it is getting fuel.

Could the deep creep I sprayed in last season impact the motor from starting.

Any help would be appreciated, pretty nervous since this is my second motor for this boat.

Well deep creep is for decarbing and not winterizing, for that you'd use fogging oil. I don't think the deep creep sitting in there for awhile would do anything, except disloged a crap load of carbon.

Anyways...
Are you sure it is getting spark? What's your starting procedure?

Turn it over a few times with plugs out.
Then check for spark.
If spark is O.K.
Then if you still have a plastic gas tank try it and see if it is in the new fuel supply.
Good luck, Tim

You know, I should have posted this on the dumb things you've done a boat. The kill switch was off, I was so focused on the new tank, I forgot about the basic things... I think I need to blow the cob-webs out of my head. Thanks everyone for the replies

Paul you said it right. We get involved in a project and our mind is on big things and worry about what might go wrong, or break, and we forget the simplest of things and think the worst.

I have done it many times on different things and that's why I like to work with someone...or someone looking over my shoulder. They see things you don't cause you "are too close to your work....stressed up".

Glad it was a quick fix and ronnieboy found it and he joined this month. Whadda deal!

Mark
