Replaceing the float and needle in the above engine. Carb is a BB type.

New needle has a spring on the end and the new float is the "plastic" type. (both OEM)

The paper that came with the float said to set the float .320 > .360 at the front. Seems really high when it's set....nowhere near level.

Is this correct?

OBJ, some of the BB carb floats look really low but they work at that heigth I serviced a 45 with BBs on it and set them level like we have for years and the fuel ran right thru it

Laddies.....with the carb body inverted, the float looks very high in front. The float adjustment worked out to something like .....21/64" (.360) at the highest. Guess I'm just used to too many John/Rudes...... ;)

Just don't want to take it apart again..... :)

Re: Merc 7.5 Float Level

After setting floats level for about 45 years it's a hard pill for me too, but it will run fine
