I put a new bulb, plugs and checked all connections. I am getting fire to all the plugs and plenty of gas but it won't fire at all now. And won't start

Thanks Pastor Mark

Re: Motor problems

Welcome to iboats. :)

First things that come to mind are a problem with fuel tank ventng, or more likely the fuel pump needs to be rebuilt. Easy job, cheap parts. Rare combination when it comes to marine repair. ;)

Re: Motor problems

Could also be an air leak in the fuel lines. Check that first.

Re: Motor problems

When the engine begins to act up, squeeze the primer bulb a time or two. If the engine picks up and runs normal, you likely have a fuel pump problem. If that doesn't help, I'd look toward the carbs (assuming you've done the obvious tank vent, bulb, hose, checks).

Also check the check valve in the squeeze bulb. The outlet check valve came out and bounced around the bulb. The motor failure was intermittent. I found it after replacing the gas lines and rebuilding the fuel pump. If it is out you will feel a small object inside the bulb. The bulb/ line can be replaced or disassemble bulb to reinsert the check valve.
