re: inline 6 carborator

I purchased a boat with a 1977 inline 6-Merc. I noticed that the carburetor throttle bracket screws were missing. They were replaced and on full throttle, I noticed that the top shuttle was fully opened and the second and third were half open...is this correct?

Please help....

Joe

No. They should all be the same. The key is to get them to all open at the same time. The top one advances the other two. There is a screw anchoring the link on the tops of the lower two carbs. Start with the middle and finally the lower. The lower two could still be in sync with each other, so readjusting that may not be necessary.

Thanks

Once they are adjusted and fully in sync, is there something like a lock washer to keep them from vibrating loose and coming out of sync?
