I have the old mercontrol with the coldstart lever with my 1150 i6. I replaced one of the cams inside and am not sure how it goes back together. Should the shifter be in neutral and the coldstart lever up or down when putting the halves back together? The cables have been removed from the motor.

Thanks

How I put mine toghether was to have the cold start lever down and the shift in neutral and carefully make sure the cam followers fit in the grooves. It goes back together with a little patience. when you get it together, make sure the levers work easily without binding.

Not trying to Hijack your thread here but is there a way to take up throttle slack inside the Mercontroll ? Or is that traditionally done at the Motor ? I REALLY dont wanna take this apart !

joemamma_222, I'm not sure but I think you can turn the barrel connector or is it called trunion, on the motor side of the cable to tightnen/loosen it.

The other problem I am having is getting that little roller to stay in place when putting the two halves together. I've read its a common problem, anyone have any tips?

Thanks

Patience! I know what you are going through. you have to try to hold things in their proper place while you get it together. Have te shift lever in neutral and the throttle all the way idle with the warm up lever down n carefully line everything up. Yes, you can adjust the throttle at the motor end.
