I've got a 2001 Optimax 200 HP

I was attempting to get on plane and noticed the motor was not trimmed all the way down. Rather than backing off the gas I tried to trim the motor down. It would not trim down. I then got off the gas.

After that, the motor would not tilt/trim at all.

It was working fine just minutes before that.

I put fluid in this spring.

Fortunately it was down enough to get back to the ramp. Once there I manually trimmed the motor so I could get the transom saver on for the ride home.

Once I got home, I took the cowling off and tried all the trim switches (bow, console, motor) and everything related to tilt/trim is dead. The tilt motor is not moving and I don't hear any relays clicking when I press the trim switches. When I turn the ignition key they all click once.

I also noticed that one of the trim rods (starboard) is stuck all the way in and the other is about 1 inch out. I've always seen these about an inch out. I don't know if the one that is all the way in happened when I was trying to go on plane or when I first let the motor down at the ramp when putting the trim in manual mode. If I spin the trim rod end ball on the rod that is all the way in, I see small water drops on it. Did water get in the tilt/trim housing?

Any ideas?
