Re: Ban on PWC's-Thank You Uncle Sam!!
Hooty is right. This may taste of victory, but it reaks of property rights violation to me. You have to understand a bit of my history to understand what i mean.
I live in SW Florida, and we have problems with a group of zealots who call themselves "Save The Manatee club". These people are zealots. In other words, manatee safety is more important than human safety,or the existance of any other living thing in our local waters.
They sued (and won) the Federal Fish and Wildlife Commission, and as a result, waterfront prperty owners localy, have lost the right to build or repair thier docks.
Most inland waterways are idle speed only durring the winter months..Don't get me wrong, I don't have much of a problem with that. I go out to fish and relax anyway,so put-putting is somewhat ok with me. But the FWC has been blackmailed into these land-grabs and permit refusals by these sea cow worshippers. If it actually SAVED lives of sea cows, i don't think I would be half as opposed to the whole thing, but they don't. The idle zones, yes,in many (BUT NOT ALL) areas they have been imposed.
You may be asking,"What does this have to do with banning waterturds?"
Well it's the exact same thing. Let them ban PWCs,and in a few years, do not be shocked to find your boat banned from the same waterways! WHY? Don't fret,my friends. They'll think of some dumb-as reason.
