Re: Oil injection removal

WHY Yamahas oil injection doesnt fail. It will only over oil never under oil. The system is a gravity feed system to the oil pump. The oil is injected in to the intake manifold. Its a great system. Keep the oil tank and filter clean. I replace the oil pump when the engine has 1000 hrs. or when we do a rebuild. Keep the oil clean and free of water and check you warning system once a year and it will out last the engine. The oil is controlled by throtle position. You use less oil with the system in place.

Re: Oil injection removal

I have a 40 hp 2cycle 1986 unit, the oil pump is stuck in full open and the throttle linkage is attached to the oil pump. When I attempt to start the engine is in full throttle. So I shut down right away. I was thinking of removing the oil pump and pre mix the fuel. or should I disassymble the old linkage and leave the oil pump on.

Brent
