Most common problem is the plastic stop for the trim sender on the tilt tube. They break all the time. Trim the engine all the way up and look at the trim sender and follow it to the trim sender stop. The trim sender stop shoudnt move on the tilt tube. If the trim sender stop is ok. Then with the key on move the sender arm up and down and watch the trim guage. If it still doesnt work there is a dip switch on the guage for a two wire or three wire for the trim guage. Look to see if the dip switch is correct to your trim sender.
