1994 DT115 will not start. Turn key and motor turns once or twice then stops. New batteries installed, all lugs cleaned still same problem.

I am thinking now it is probably the starter. Anything else I should check.

To confirm it is the starter, should I be able to pull start a 115?

Re: DT115 Starting Problem

Pull the spark plugs out and see if the starter motor will turn over the engine. While they are out check for a good spark. You may have a loose electrical connection. Start at the battery, particularly if you have wing nuts which are notorious for bad connections. It seems every time I disconnect my battery I always have to retighten them to get my motor to start the first time. Check the battery cables and check the terminals where they attach to the engine block. If all of the connections are OK, remove the starter and take it to an auto parts store. Many of them will test it for free. I'll bet you find a bad connection.
