Hello,

First I have to say that I am new to this site and spent most of my day reading previous posts on carb troubles and really enjoyed it.

Well here is what I have, 1984 Yamaha 115 ETLN
2 stroke that after starting and runs about five minutes gas starts comming out of the Main Air jets on the front of the bottom carb. This just started the other day, has been running fine. Once the gas starts to flow out it floods out and dies. After I wait ten minutes or so it will start right up then do the same thing. I have a outboard shop manual for the motor and from what I can tell, it looks like a carb rebuild is in order.
Just thought I would try and get more info before I did it. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Cobra43

Cobra43,
Hello, Yes, I'ts time for a rebuild or a good cleaning!I had a similar problem on a 225. RODBOLT and RAY set me straight. Give the carbs a good cleaning and set them to factory specs. It makes them run like new! Good luck.

It sounds like a needle is sticking in that carb. I would clean them both and replace the needle valves and the bowl gaskets.

Thanks Guys,

So would I be better of to rebuild the top and
bottom carbs, even though the top carb isn't giving me any trouble at this time. Im just looking ahead and I have to take the bottom one off anyway just to clean it.
