HOW DO I OPEN 703 YAMAHA CONTROLS TO CHANGE CABLES

The cables I have are too long and I need to get shorter ones, so I need to open up the control box to change them (703 Yamaha 115 2003 model). How do I open the control box to change the cables.

Unmount it, turn it around and remove the small cover at the bottom.

Sure. Pay attention to how far the end is screwed on before you remove it and put on new cable.

Hello to all. I actually have another question regarding the 703. Recently, the trim has not been responding when I depress the button from the remote. It works fine from the button on the engine itself so I know it has to be a lose/bad connection at the remote. I'd like to examine the connections at the remote for corrosion, how do I best do that? Is it a very tricky job to disassemble the part of the remote that houses the button? Any feedback appreciated. Pat
