I've got a 1994 yammie that starts and runs fine until I slow down or troll for awhile. It misses sometimes at idle, but when i throttle up to 4200 or so it misses consistently for about a mile, then it runs like a scalded dog. I've rebuilt the carbs, checked linkages and water separator to no avail. But, when i changed the plugs, it seemed to fix the problem the first time out. But now, its back to missing again. Thanks in advance.

Check interface linkage between the throttle arm inside the cowling and the oil pump, possible this is disconnected or not adjusted right. Are you using the correct heat range plugs?? I have noticed that the 250 of a friends uses lots more oil than my 200, but could be the design,, Puzzled in Raleigh

hello
check the stator voltage output while its missing. also check the oil control for proper adjustment. if your motor uses recirc check valves test them for being blown out. look up the valves in the parts book by your model #. if it says nipples you have a 3.1L and no valves if it says valves you have them. the two parts look identical. your engine should be a 2.6L and should have them.also check the fuel pump diaphrams and the spark plug caps for proper resistance.
good luck and keep posting
