Where / How do I turn the motor over with out using the key? I am going to do a compression check

Use a jumper on the brown wire to the starter solinoid to the battery lead. Parts houses sell one with a trigger in line for this purpose.

to test the fuel rail does not require turning the motor over. I am not asking for a compression test. I am asking for a fuel rail pressure test. if there is no fuel in the rail it wont work. it also wont inject fuel if the stoplanyard is pulled. it will cramk just no start. with the key on engine off test for 12v at each injector red/yellow lead and at the red lead on the high pressure pump. should have it.
if you promise to use a spark tester I will tell you how to watch for fuel spray. if you dont use a spark tester to control the spark there is a good chance of lighting it on fire.
try to get me some fuel rail pressure numbers.
key on engine off

Uhhhhh, I think the stop lanyard is pulled.
Also I was going to do a compression check not related to the Fuel injection issue.

Thanks !!

-if the stop lanyard is pulled you will have no spark nor injection. in fact the pump should not run either :) . the main relay is shut off when the lanyard is pulled. the main relay controls the 12v positive from the 80amp fuse to the relay then to the fuel pump and injectors. the other(ground) side is done in the ECU. when the lanyard is pulled it disables the relay.

I was mistaken. The stop lanyard was in place. The pump runs, but only for 5 seconds after the key is switched on. Will try to get fuel rail pressure, and test the power at the injectors.

One thing which may or may not be an issue: I have taken the tilt and trim units off and are having them resealed. Does this unit play a part in completeing the (pump) circuit??

Thanks!

Re: '99 OX66 complete fuel system "flush out"

if it runs for 5 seconds its getting power. the red lead is hot any time the key is on. the red/yellow leads on the injectors are the same. all the ground circuit completions for pump run, pump run high speed and injector pulse width are completed in the ECU. time to test for voltage while cranking on the red and the red/yellow wires. but an easy way is with a fuel pressure test gauge. when cranking the brown wire sends a signal to the ecu to turn on the pump. once running the ecu takes a ccrank signal to keep it running. if it stalls or stops the pump shuts off. all controled by the ECU.
