I have a 2002 model 30 HP CV (2cyl) Yamaha which has a lighting coil but no rectifier. The factory accessory appears to be only a rectifier with no regulator and is rather expensive. I am wondering if I can wire up a normal bridge rectifier (10 amp job) from an old power supply via a fuse to charge my battery?<br />Thanks Ralphieb

most likly. I would not see why not. as long as it can handle the heaat. most those systems are unregulated anyway on the little motors.

Re: Rectifier

It will work just fine. If worried about heat, a small heat sink is available at Radio Shack or any electronics salvage shop.
