I have a 1997 Yamaha 150. I am having problems with my tilt and trim. It will go up slowly but not all the way and it will not go down. I have tried to bleed the line of air, but I don't think that is working. Each time I do it, it seems to not go up as far as the time before. The switch sounds like it wants to work but it's not doing much. I bought this boat used so I don't have any manuals or much knowledge of how to fix the problem. Any suggestions?

Re: Yamaha 150 Tilt and Trim

that system is self bleeding. trim it up and check the fluid level in the highest up position you can, DO NOT get your fingers mashed, use a block or wooden cradle or anything else as a positive lock to hold the gearcase.if the system is the showa and in 97 they changed to the showa units on the v4-v6 it could be many things. does the pump motor run at all when the down button is depressed ?<br />does your setup have a funny looking plastic oil resevoir ?

yes, the motor runs. don't have a clue as to what you mean by plastic oil resevoir. Can you be more detailed as to what and where it would be?
