I have a 1999 Yamaha 40HP, 2 stroke (model# C40TLRX)
I recently acquired a used Yamaha Multi-Function Tach (part# 6Y5-8350T-82) along with the wiring harnesses on eBay, there were no instructions with the Tach. By using searches on this site, I have determined that the correct settings for the 1st & 3rd Dip switch is off for both. However, I haven't been able to find how to determine the Generator Type in order to set the 2nd switch. Can anyone tell me how the switch should be set or how to determine the Generator Type? All three switches were off when I received the Tach. Thanks.

Re: Yamaha Multi-Function Tach Dip Switch Settings

Thanks, rodbolt. I appreciate the help
I found the below info in another post on this site which would indicate that the setting for the 2nd switch would be ON for my motor.

Sw1 (Trim Sensor Type): On= 2-lead, Off=3-lead
Sw2 (Generator Type): On= 6-pole, Off=12-pole
Sw3 (Engine Type): On= 4-stroke, Off=2-stroke
