Difference between 200hp and 225hp Yamaha Outboards

All the specifications for the 200 VS the 225 are<br />the same. Does any one know what the difference is?

Apologies, I just couldn't resist.<br /> I'm getting my Yamaha training from Ray and Rodbolt and (trial and error/the hard way).<br /> Just a guess though, would it be port timing in the block and/or carb jetting?

a lot depending on the year and the CID of the two.

The port timing and carb size are both different in all models. Exhaust divider plate and tuner are different in many models as well.

over the years the 200 and the 225 have shared and not shared various blocks,cranks cubic inch displacements, fuel delivery methods and ign systems and have been made in two and 4 stroke models. without a model code to compare them against 25HP is the correct answer.

I was thinking my smartask answer of "25hp" was just that....<br />I didn't mean it that way. It was just the 1st thing that popped into my mind and I was fishing for a small chuckle. (it was a lighthearted answer)(light brained also)<br />Apologies if it came across differently.

brownies, its usually my standard answer <br /> like when asked how to get more HP, I tell them to change the decals.
