Just brought home a new motor and am ready to take it to the harbor. I wanted to check the oil injection so I checked the owners manual. It states that after a while in storage you should unhook the oil injection line to the top carb to check for flow.

I am curious how much flow I should see. Does the pump inject to the carb or just deliver and the carb vacuum takes over from there? Only a drop every 30 seconds comes out of the hose. Is this enough? I added a 50:1 mixture to the gas tank just in case. The picture in the owners manual seems to depict an actual spay of oil being delivered.

I am hoping to take the boat out today which is why the "Please Rush".

Thanks a million for your replies.

Forgot to post this is a 1986 2 stroke with Precision Blend system. Oil flows easily from the oil reservoir. Just not sure about the amount being delivered.

Thanks Again.

if you disconnect the oil pump link rod it will dribble from the oil line noticeably. you must run the engine on premix to do this test.
