Thanks for your suggestions, Rodbolt. Your response a couple of weeks ago was very detailed and helpful.

On the third try we figured out the problem. (I was ready to replace the O2 sensors even though thet insisted they were OK.) I had a bad connection inside the plug connecting the Throttle Position Sensor plug. It usually worked but gradually caused the plugs to foul, then really wouldn't run well.

We didn't even have to replace the plug, just reposition it and be sure it was really tightly plugged together. Both 200s ran perfectly for 8 hours after that.
:)

glad ya found it.
like I say electrical failures are really rather rare, usually its a mechanical failure and about half the time it was a created failure.
you would not belive the engines I get with odd problems that if I can get a copy of the last work order I can rapidly diagnose based on the last service procedure.
sparkplugs go bad occasionally its a fact of life, however 90% of the time plug fouling is a symptom not a problem.
if you replace a set without finding the failure cause, failure again is assured. sometimes finding the cause may take a bit.
