2 ring v. 3 ring pistons

i am rebuilding a '86 yamaha 90hp. i am only replacing one piston. the parts place sent the wrong piston..... a 2 ring, and i need a 3 ring. can i use the 2 ring? would they be balanced?

Weigh them and see. I would not anticipate any problem from the change.
