Has anyone figured out how to get data out of the Yamaha tach or fuel mgmt gauges, for instance, total run time? There's usually a combination of button presses that gets you behind the user interface.

There is no "user" interface with the FM gauges. What you see is what you get.

OK, thanks anyway, I was looking for a way to see the actual hrs accumulated. Usually there's a way to do this on most control systems I've fooled with.

If your MF tach has two buttons on the front of the display it has a built in hour meter.

I checked this weekend, my digital tach doesn't have any buttons, must not be a Multi-Finction unit.

its a multi function if its a digital yamaha, the hour meter was added about 04. there is no interface for the ECU or tach on that model for total hours.

Re: '98 Yamaha SW 150 gauges

thanks for your input. I recently bought a '98 Cobia w/ twin S150TXRWs at auction, so I don't have any past history. I'm trying to get some idea of the engines' past life. They look pretty good and run OK, except for a high idle speed (1,000 rpm).
