Suzuki Model #11502 ID 913562 will not excel past 3000 rpm at wich time it will pulse. "rev" light flickers with pulse. Water light stays on but no buzzer. Engine is "peeing" a strong stream. Pulse is very regular. Has ran this way for 2-3 days no change even with plugs and carb. cleaner.

Welcome to IBoats ... this post comes up alot ... I have the exact same engine and have had this problem .... you have a 1989 model and not a 1991 model suzuki ... but before I start explaining I have to ask, when last did you do an impellar change?

The boat is my fathers. He bought it used. He has never changed out the impellar. When he purchased the boat it had very few hours on the moter and he has not used it much. He gets it out when the grandkids come up.

Thanks for your repley!

Lack of use is just as hard on impellers as continued use. In some cases-worse.

Carb cleaner will accomplish nothing. Suzy's have VERY sensitive carb's. (Mikuni's). If I remember correctly, the jets can be removed from the outside for cleaning. On my last Suzy (DT-140) doing so was an annual event.

Ok now, you need to change the impellar, and then test it again, if the problem still persist ... we'll take it from there ... I doubt this a a fuel problem as the engine sensors kills some of the cylindars when something goes wrong, when mine did the exact same thing I changed my impellar and all was good, the sensors are expensive to replace but they do go bad also ...

Yeah I do agree with DJ Cee. I have a DT175 and if anything goes wrong it will cut off cylinders and not allow it to rev higher than 3K. If changing the impellor doesn't do it then check you water pressure sensor(s). Mine has 2 and one busted (it has a glass bulb on the inside of the sensor that cracked). Mine would do the same thing. I have a pressure gauge so I just separated the wires in the sensor and its fine now. I wouldn't advise it though unless you have a gauge.

Okay,we changed the impellar, We have not put the boat in the water, but have reved it up momentarily to 3000 with the water hose attatched. It is still cutting out and the water light is not going off. I disconected the water flow senor located under the thermostat. The light went out but the moter is still cutting out at 2800-3000. We pulled out the water flow sensor/switch,stopped the hole up, started the motor, moved the lever on the switch up and down but it did not affect the light. Does this mean the switch is Bad?

What's a good online parts site? I would like to send that water flow sensor/switch to my Dad.
