what year and mfg?

I have a Sears 3.5 HP, Has serial numbered tag: 61960 <br />and chassis tag reading "217 59900" <br />need to get a manual, can anyone tell me the<br />year and mfg.? Eska? Clinton? appears to be<br />an air cooled motor, but not certain. uses<br />external tank, but has a strange quick connect.

I'm trying to find out the year model of my outboard also. Yesterday I saw an old message that said to email the info to 'mtec@hialoha.net' and they will tell ya. I sent the email yesterday but havent got a response yet.

No, It's a 10hp Honda. I see links for Merc's, Johnson's etc... but no Honda's. The guy I bought it from said he 'thinks' its an 89 but he wasn't sure.

Mellow et al. I did not find a model number guide for Sears, but did run across the Sears parts site. When I enter the model number of 217 59900, they give a part list and there is a diagram that you can pull up. they did not list a year. thanks Scoop! I certainly appreciate yor efforts.<br />I'm guessing Clinton, but could be Eska.<br />Sloopy seems to be pretty good with these.<br />hope he has the info I need. <br />don't see an impeller anywhere... hmmmmmm.

Mellowyellow, I did some digging for your Sears Motor and this was an E-mail I received from Jim's Old Outboard Site. Hope this helps!<br /><br />Hi Rick,<br /> The model number starting with "217" indicates your motor was made by a dual effort from Eska/Tecumseh probably between 1970-73. You can get parts and better info from the Certified Parts Corp link on my site at My Site They'll have anything you need!
