Sears Ted Williams 7 hp outboard motor (eska). model # 217 59440
Should I use oil designed for water cooled (oils with a w in the type) or oil for a weed eater or chain saw? I do not see alot of mist or spray comming out of the top port but the lower unit feels cool. I am tring to figure out if the impeller is working. Any sugestions? How much trouble will it be to replace the impeller?

The motor uses an air cooled Tecumseh powerhead with a water cooled leg. Most have vent holes on the leg that the water mists out of.You may be able to find an after market service manual here on iboats. You shouldnt attempt any repairs without a manual.
Use oil suitable for aircooled aplications like chain saws.

For a mist of water to spray out of the upper 2 ports does the motor have to be moving thru water or should I see water mist out in a testing barrell? Does anyone know how much trouble it will be to replace the impeller?
