Re: petrol prices

To convert this to where we, in the US can feel your pain....... 1 British pound = $1.78 US dollars. So you are saying gas prices in the UK are expected to reach $8.90 to $10.68 a gallon this year. OUCH!!!! My 8.1L engine would not be started too often at those prices.

Re: petrol prices

I live in Ontario near Michigan where the gas price here is $1.10/litre (Canadian money). In Michigan the price is $0.85/litre (Canadian Money)or $2.83/gallon (US money). I am definately going to boat over to the States to fill the boat up. To do the math as a comparison, if you were to fill up in Ontario the gas would be around $3.85/gallon (US money) That just bites. Last year at the Marina the price soared to $1.37/litre. It just takes the fun out of it.

I just manage my money a little smarter. I plan my trips for less driving, order less take-out food, buy less frivelous impulse items, and that more than frees up money for gas. I have already done the math, it isn't that hard, you just have to discipline yourself. Cheap gas is gone forever. Also, I fill with gas cans, never at a marina.
