Runs until fuel bowl is empty.

I've never seen anything like this is over 50 years of tinkering with engines (off & on).
2HP Sea King (Clinton) with Walbro LMB carburetor will run until it empties the bowl but the bowl will quickly fill when the engine is not running. Somehow the engine running inhibits flow into the carb. There are no fuel obstructions!!!! (The engine appears to be little used -- I can see why!) JIm H.
( mounthighly@aol.com )

That is a stumper.Maybe something strange is going on with the gas line.If it is a rubber line maybe
vibration is causing a sort of reverse pumping action or pulse that stops the flow.I would try various lengths and sizes and configuration of gas line.

Thanks Spike. It was rubber line but now is plastic "aircraft" (blue clear) fuel line. I can't see anything significant in the line when the engine is running. I've considered, sometime, rigging some type of pressure fuel system (remote from the vibration)to see what happens. Jim H.

Maybe try a separate temporary tank by gravity to see if it will flow.Just a can and carefully syphon the gas to the motor.

Spike (& anyone else this might benefit):
I put a fitting in the bottom of a gallon jug, connected it to the carb, and placed the fuel level about 8" above the carb -- the engine runs and runs. Jim H.

Does the same thing happen without the cap on the tank?

I had a cracked syphon tube inside fuel tank once that acted like that. Maybe check that as well. My syphon tube just unscrewed from tank so was easy to check, then screwed a new one in.

Re tank venting: The tank is venting (that's one of the first things I checked).
Re syphon tube: There is no syphon tube in the tank -- just a fitting w/screen in the bottom of the tank.
The engine runs well with the separate gravity feed tank and that's good enough !!
Thanks for the advice.
