After a long winter, I went to my camp to check on things. Sure enough when I looked at my boat I found that the stand had broken in two. Then I see the boat was resting up against the post of the stand and there was a huge crack.
The crack is about 1 ft in length, 6" in height, and about 4"...
My boat currently has cable pulley steering and im looking at purchasing a newer 50 hp for my boat. My only problem is the steering, what are my options to upgrading my steering?
Current owner of motor says "remote steering'
Looking at purchasing a 55 hp mariner, two smoker. Looking to get some feedback, see if they have a weak history or common problems.

Ok, so I finally get my new driveshaft in for my 73 evinrude 40Hp. It looks identical only its 3/4" to short.
When the motor is upside down everything works perfect but when its flipped up right the drive shaft is dropping out of the crank.
Any Evinrude guys out there that would know what...
I broke my motor which is a 40hp evinrude 1973, and found a great deal on a 75hp. I'm wondering if my boat will hold a 75hp v4 and be able to plane nicely?
My boat is heavy for a 14ft boat, it held the 40hp excellent. Picture of my boat

I've been trying for a couple of days to get the driveshaft out of the top end. What connects the driveshaft to the crankshaft? There must be something holding it in there because I cant get it out. Any help would be greatlyy appreciated
I was out for a boat ride, motor was working excellent until I was driving then it just kicked out of gear. I thought something was wrong in the lower unit. I took it a part today to discover the drive shaft broke off in the lower unit right above the splines.

I've used my motor about 10 times this season and its worked excellent until yesterday. I was running wide open then all of a sudden the motor went into neutral. Now I can hear the transmission going into gear but the propeller still spins freely. Could it be a keyway or shift dog...
Looking for a new prop and am wondering if a different pitch or size would help my take off? In my Evinrude service manual it list about 5 different props I can use but dont know if a smaller pitch is better or worse?? Or if a smaller size is better or worse?? Any help would be greatly...
Had an old battery in the boat before and it would activate the starter but not have enough juice start the motor. So I went out and purchased a new battery and put it in the boat today. Push the electric choke down (it worked) then turned the key and it worked for a second then everything died...
Last weekend I chipped my prop. The boat still planes fine but I'm wondering if I can squeeze a little more top end or lower end out of it with a new prop. I however do not know about pitches and which prop to buy? Any help would be greatly appreciated

My motor is working great but I notice this past weekend that both coils have cracks in them and one spark plug cap is all eating away.

I've been having troubles getting my motor in and out of gear using the transmission cable. By hand its fine but I cannot adjust the cable enough for it to work.
Just wondering how you guys have your cables connected? I dont think I have the right cable for my year motor.

I have the muff on, water comes out the bottom but doesn't come out the exhaust hole???
