    determining year of motor

    I have the serial number for my 40 hp big twin. I was told it was a 73 or 74 and it is not. Can anyone tell me of a website where I could go, enter the serial number and find the correct year for my motor? I need to buy a new fuel pump. Thanks for your help. Jim
