Hey guys, got an update and question. For a backyard mechanic kinda guy, I have determined that the 140 in my 76 Silverline is saveable.
As far as intakes go, are they interchangeable? As in, can you take an intake off a newer 3.0 that’s got the large base carb and bolt up to my motor? Just...
Kinda figured so I’m gonna drain oil and leave drain plug out and then run water through where the thermostat lives and see if any water comes out oil pan drain plug hole. Also contemplating dropping oil pan for a visual inspection.
I was hoping to be able to use my existing bell housing and coupler on the new motor so I didn’t have to redo the entire drive. That’s why I was asking about interchangeability

I ordered one of those but they have the large base and I need the small base.( intake to carb bolt pattern) I believe when mercruiser went to the TKs system, they started using the large base and that seems to be what everyone’s cloning
I haven’t been able to find a parts breakdown of my trolling motor to get part number for the switch, that’s why I wanted to hardwire it for the time being

Here are photos of the outdrive.
Hey guys. I picked up a 1976 Silverline Comoro 17T boat with a 4 cylinder 140 hp mercruiser in it and I’m in need of a carb. The small base Rochester 2gc that’s on it is trashed.
Any budget conscious options that you guys know of? I’m ok with a used one as long as it’s not trashed. Found a...
