What is the only thing in 1970 that tilted with a gear driven outboard? Sorry no questions on Sat...lol
I am tilting the propellor out of the water for loading and unloading. It is an outboard setup. old OMC stuff.

The boat is a 1970 Aristo Craft. it does not tilt with hydraulic cylinders. It has a gear and electric motor. It was working, then it stopped. Trying to locate someone who has knowledge of this type "older" systems. Send pics tomorrow.
89 omc 5.7L cobra. I replaced the starter motor and the new one didnt have location for the purple/black 16ga. wire. So i left it off. Is that the wire that goes straight to the coil to give it 12v ? I hooked up the yellow/red 12ga wire. Can i reroute the purple/black or do i need to put on the...
i have a 5.7 / 21'-00" donzi with a cobra outdrive. i want to change the outdrive. I hear volvo and mercruiser have aftermarket toys. Has anyone gone thru this? By the way, South Carolina is going to the college world series again.
I dont live near the lake so it is hard to drive back and forth. Will a 55 gallon plastic drum filled with water work? I was thinking of setting the drive in the barrell and testing. Any better ideas.....
The boat is a 1989 Donzi with a OMC Cobre. I rebuilt the engine. It's a 5.7 and i put it back in. I did not remove the bell housing. Do i need to align the engine with the stern drive?
If you pull the shift cable off and pull it into foward gear and turn the prop by hand, should you be able to spin prop freely in foward. It feels like it wants to grab something but it lets go. In reverse it grabs nothing.
do not send hastings link. I have a copy. I spoke to someone who said find true neutral by taking both cables off. Shift and throddle cables. Now pull shift cable to reverse and have someone spin prop by hand to fully engage reverse gears. Mark the cable w/ a sharpee and do the same for foward...
