    Shift cable replacement

    I am replacing the shift cable on my Alpha 1. The manual says no more than 2 threads on the retainer nut should be exposed. Is that 2 threads on the forward side (bellows side) sticking out or 2 threads between the retainer nut and the bell housing? Thank you for taking the time to answer. Jason

    I broke the shift slide while removing my out drive. Are there any tips to removing the slide for replacement? I have the shop manual (number 1)for this drive but I can't find anything on the shift slide.

    Which color first?

    I am getting ready to put some paint on the boat. I am painting 2 colors. White on the upper half and blue on the bottom half. Does it matter which color is painted first? The blue and white will be next to each other so I have to cover one with the other at some point. Any thoughts? Jason
