    price for lower cable to be replaced?

    What is a fair price to have a lower shift cable replaced, just need a ballpark so i am not taken.

    idles fine but in gear cuts off

    Just took my new to me 1981 century mercruiser 228 for the first time out. I did not get past the ramp. Boat idles fine, once I put it in gear it cuts off unless I am quick on the throttle. I have new plugs, cap, rotor, coil, wires, and a pertronix ingintorII kit. The boat was inspected at a...

    Performance intake question.

    I have a century with a mercruiser 228 and want to replace the 4bbl and intake. I want to move to an edelbrock 600cfm and a performance intake. Can I use a car intake or do I have to have a marine intake? This is the first I/O I have owned.

    Replacing points with IgnitorII kit

    I just bought a 1981 Century 1810 with a Mercruiser 228 and the dealer told me that I might want to junk the points on the boat and convert to a Ignitor II kit, coil, wires. Has anyone done this. I did this on a 1965 Ford Falcon 260V-8 but never on a boat. Any thoughts?
