I haven't had a boat for about 12 years now. Our last boat was an old Bayliner 1950 Capri Cuddy that I paid very little for and did a lot of work to. Say what you will, that thing was a tank, and it could handle some crap for its size. I am looking again at a 19 to 23 foot cuddy of some sort...

Ive removed the roller, but the piece that has the spring on it and the rod inside the spring is still on the motor. It mounts on a threaded post that screws into the block. The post has a squared off end sticking out beyond the rid/spring piece.

I have an AQ125A that keeps burning up the alternator belt. As soon as you get to about 3200 rpms, you can smell the rubber burning. I read a thread elsewhere that an alternator can seize intermittently and cause this...does this sound reasonable? Could the engine water pump do this as well...
