I have a 1993 JOhnson 200 that is not running well.
I have owned the motor for about 12 years and have never had to replace the power pack but think that may be the problem.
I'll list the problems below.

I have a problem with the recoil starter on my Seahorse. I took the recoil assembly off to clean and lubricate it to begin using the motor again. Somehow, now that it is cleaned and lubricated the arms that are supposed to pivot inwards to grab the flywheel are not pivoting as they should...

The old outboard is a johnson 5 hp with TN 27 stamped on the side of the power head.
I can't believe it but it hasn't been cranked in about 10 years.
I put fresh gas in it. Opened the valves, pumped the primer and IT CRANKED.
Didn't run very well but it did run.

Not sure how but I managed to sieze the motor.
I haven't run compression check but after running for 5-10 min at very low throttle the motor siezed.
Pretty sure I'll need new rings and possibly piston also.
