Or is it the Sierra Part #18-7334 or Sierra Part #18-7349. These two also come up as fuel Pumps for this engine.
That is the question I need help with.
A new water pump has been installed, the springs, diaphragm and other parts inside pump do not look so good. thought it be better just to replace the pump. Just having trouble with the correct fuel pump part#??
Just purchased the engine and it fired right up and ran good. Then it just cut out and will not start. Cleaned fuel filter, new fuel tank and lines. Removed fuel pump and opened up, a lot of stuff trapped inside.
I have a 1986 Mariner 40 HP Model # 40ELO. I am trying to find the correct part # for the fuel pump. Is it a Yamaha or Mercury fuel pump? Thanks for any assistance.
Found out that this is a 1966 Mercury 500 50 hp with the magneto. I have replace the spark plug wire with the correct wire core plug set, new rotor, new breaker points and new spark plugs. Still no spark at the spark plugs. Could it be the rectifier and or condenser?
I have removed the Magneto and replaced the breaker points, put on new rotor and new plug wires. Have spark from the terminal on the side, but no spark from plug wires. These are new 7mm plug wires. Any advice??
Will this switch work or will I need to find one for a Mercury Engine? I now realize why he gave me this pontoon, but if I can get it going it will be great for the grandkids!! Sorry dealing with al my questions. Thank You
I have the correct wiring harness for this engine, the problem I am having is the ignition switch connections. What is the proper ignition switch for this engine??
So I have the Orange wire coming from the Magneto thru the wiring harness to the E terminal on the Ignition switch. This needs to be grounded at the Ignition switch??
I realize that, that is why I am asking these questions about the wiring at the ignition switch. By putting the Orange wire (Magneto) on the I Terminal at the ignition switch, I have power to the magneto wire when the ignition switch is in the on position. Is this right??
I was given this pontoon with this engine mounted on it. It had an Evinrude 40hp on it before. The pontoon is a 1995 Tracker. He had replaced all the wiring harnesses with Mercury wiring harnesses for this engine. The ignition switch is also aftermarket. I have the Red(Battery) wire attached to...
