im a newbie to this stuff if i install a manual jack plate ,will the tilt and trim on my motor still raise and lower my motor as if no jack plate was installed thanks

At times the motor runs like a top and sometimes it misses and cuts a shine and sometimes it wont start till you peck litely on the coils . I have replaced the coils and unhooked the black and yellow striped wire with no results . the motor also sounds like its spitting out air at idle , kinda...
