    ideas for securing bow of boat to trailer

    have used tie downs, not that impressed... thinking of putting something similar to a gunwale tie down to the front to stop any movement in bow while on the trailer

    have a 88 hp johnson, thus far have tried 3 different props but haven't found one I am truly happy with... installed a 6" jackplate and am about 1/2 up on it and still have good water pressure ( actually want to go higher) problem I have is all the props I have tried either slip or ventilate...

    water pressure on a 88hp special

    anyone know what a johnson 88spl should be getting for water pressure? am getting about 15.. going to lower the motor to elimitate that possibility that it is mounted too high..dealer supposedly put a new lower unit on this motor when i bought imo a new impeller should have been done at same...

    88 hp johnson outboard rectifer installation

    changing the rectifier on my outboard, am hoping the reason why my tach never worked..both new rectifer and one on boat have 2 yellow 1 red wire.. manual says 1 should have gray tracer but don't see on either one.. 2 yellow wires go to different terminals on terminal block..way to tell which...

    problem on cold startup

    i have a 88 johnson 88 spl.. for some reason starts fine on the hose put if try to start cold in a lake ..will not start.. i believe only difference is the resistance on the exhaust in the water.. no problems once warm

    hi i have a 95 glastron 16' bowrider with a 88hp johnson outboard.. - my issue is i have to run the motor adjustment all the way in and the trim all the way down ( currently has a hydrofoil which i want to remove- have had numerous people tell me they cost performance) in order to keep the bow...

    how to cold start 88 spl/ trim issues

    i have a 88 spl model j88tsleoc johnson outboard very difficult to cold start.. tried new plugs- don't help...seems to be flooding itself any things to look for? also have issue trying to keep bow down..engine mounts all the way in and trim all the way down...leaves me with no adjustment - also...

    johnson 88 special

    almost closed a deal on a boat that has a johnson 88 special- my concern is i have have 2 dealers tell me this motor isn't that reliable.. any truth to that? if so if/ when goes better to replace with something else or rebuild this one? the $10g price tag on a new outboard doesn't look that...
