    1967 inline six shift rod not in LU

    When i pulled the lower unit to change the water pump the shift rod stayed in the top part of the engine. The lower unit is in forward gear i think, it clicks around one way and turns the drive shaft the other way. so put my controls in forward and rejoin them, then my shifter is stuck in...

    inline 6 gears? won't shift after new water pump kit, now what?

    I changed the water pump on my motor, put leg back on, shifter was a little stiff, and now its stuck in gear, wont shift back into neutral. DOH! what did i do wrong? how do i get it into neutral now?
